Couples Counselling in Bishop's Stortford

Many couples wait years before seeking help, often believing counselling is only for relationships in crisis. Couples counselling can help at any stage — working through a specific conflict, feeling disconnected, or simply wanting to strengthen your communication.

I hold a postgraduate diploma in couple therapy and have run a specialist couples counselling practice in Bishop’s Stortford for over 12 years, helping partners embrace their differences and rebuild partnership.

Who couples counselling can help

Couples come to me for all sorts of reasons, and rarely at the very beginning of their difficulties. Some are navigating a specific rupture — a breach of trust, a decision one partner made without the other. Others simply feel they’ve drifted, that the closeness they once had has quietly eroded under the weight of work, children, or years passing. Some aren’t in conflict at all, but curious about deepening their connection, or keen to build better habits before a big transition like having a first child.

I trained specifically in couple therapy, completing a two-year postgraduate diploma at the Centre for Gender Psychology in London, because couples work requires holding two, sometimes very different, experiences of the same relationship simultaneously — not simply doing one-to-one therapy with two people in the room.
